The Springboks edged England 29-20 on 16 November at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

The match was South Africa’s second of three fixtures on the end-of-year tour, which will conclude on 23 November with a clash against Wales.

SPRINGBOKS FLYHALF MANIE LOBBOK: ‘ALWAYS A PRIVILEGE’

The win saw the Springboks having a two-point lead on the World Rugby Rankings ahead of Ireland, which sits second on the log with 90.78 points.

However, one of the game’s best moments was Manie Libbok’s box-kick to Cheslin Kolbe, who produced a masterclass try.

He produced a mixed bag when he started at No 10 against England. He again missed a couple of goals, seemingly reflecting his continued struggle for consistency off the kicking tee.

His substitution has received mixed reactions from fans, but the Springboks coach has revealed why the decision was made.

Despite failing to impress, his playmaking ability and pinpoint distribution have often left many convinced he is a complete No. 10.

Against the trends, Manie Libbok took to social media to post a heartfelt message to celebrate the Springboks’ victory.

The 27-year-old shared photos in the green and gold while with other Springbok players. He captioned the images, “Always a privilege 🙏🇿🇦.”

Mzansi was more than convinced he was grateful for the opportunity to play for the Springboks. Against the post, fans and fellow Springboks were quick to react to his post.

Springboks captain Siya Kolisi liked the post, and fans praised his performance in the comments section.

RASSIE ERASMUS: “HE’S NOT UPSET WHEN WE TAKE HIM OFF…”

However, Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus gave his take on his performance in a post-match press conference after the match.

The rugby gaffer praised Manie Libbok’s performance in several games but said there will always be rotation when needed.

Rassie Erasmus said, “In the last match of the Rugby Championship against Argentina, he was probably man of the match… we scored so many tries, and we won the tournament.”

He added, “I think we, as a team, know exactly where we are. We know there are guys coming back from injury, and that is why we are not afraid of rotating.

“He’s not upset when we take him off when he doesn’t have a great game or when he is getting tired.”
