NELSON MANDELA’S GRANDSON A NO SHOW IN COURT

As previously reported, Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Xolani Fihla said a Toyota Corolla was hijacked in Oaklands on Wednesday morning and was found in Mandela’s house.

“Information then led our officers to the premises in Houghton which we understand used to be owned by former president Nelson Mandela. Upon arrival at the premises, police found the hijacked vehicle and also found an unlicensed firearm,” he explained.

The suspects were charged with kidnapping, robbery and assault.

The matter was postponed to 17 January for bail application purposes and further investigation.

MBUSO MANDELA’S CLASHES WITH THE LAW

This is not the first time Mbuso Mandela was arrested. Over the years, he has made headlines for the wrong reasons and has been labelled the black sheep of the family.

  • In 2013, Reuters reported that Mandela’s first grandson and Mvezo chief Mandla confirmed that his brother Mbuso impregnated his now ex-wife Anais Grimaud. Mbuso denied being Zanethemba’s father.
  • In 2015, Mandela’s grandson was accused of raping a 15-year-old girl. The incident reportedly occurred at the Mamma’s Shebeen restaurant and bar in Greenside, Johannesburg. According to reports, Mbuso told the court that sex between the pair was consensual. He also alleged that he believed the girl to be of legal age and the charges were later withdrawn.
  • In the same year,  Sunday World, Ndaba reported that his older brother Ndaba opened a case of theft against him for allegedly stealing over $6000 from his room at their Houghton home. Ndaba was as out of the country on business.
