Mamelodi Sundowns transfer news: Fringe ‘keeper signs new deal

Mamelodi Sundowns third choice goalkeeper Jody February has seen his contract extended by the club.

February’s contract was set to expire on 30 June but Sundowns had an option to extend it for a further year.

And after careful consideration, the Sundowns hierarchy together with technical team decided to retain him.

February has recently been given a chance to showcase his talent in the Sundowns starting line-up.

However, with Ronwen Williams still the club’s No.1 and Denis Onyango behind him, February remains further down the pecking order.

This past season, the 29-year-old goalkeeper made seven appearances across all competitions for the Brazilians.

February conceded five goals and kept three cleansheets from the said seven competitive matches he played.

Overall, the former Ajax Cape Town shot-stopper has featured just eight times and kept just three cleansheets during his time with the Tshwane giants.

February joins a growing list of players whose contracts have been renewed by Sundowns, including Mosa Lebusa and Thapelo Morena among others.

“Mamelodi Sundowns have extended the stay of goalkeeper Jody February for a further a year till June 2026,” reports iDiski Times.

WILL FEBRUARY EVER BE A REGULAR AT CHLOORKOP?
