MAMA JOY REACTS TO THE SALE OF ROYAL AM
Renowned South African superfan Mama Joy took to her X account to share her reaction to the news of the impending sale of football club Royal AM.
Like many Royal AM supporters, Mama Joy is devastated that the club is being sold by SARS.
She posted a picture of herself flanked by two gentlemen and showed love to MaMkhize, the club’s owner.
“My Children know where we come from, and they know this is just one of the seasons. With them, I don’t have any fear that maybe one day they will leave me, together forever. Life goes on, guys, but I still respect and love U Ma. Thanks, Mamkhize Thwihli,” she wrote.
Fans are curious about Mama Joy’s next move now that the club has been sold. Previously, she was a huge supporter of Orlando Pirates. Many are wondering if she will return to the club.
WHY IS SARS SELLING ROYAL AM?
The club is being sold because of MaMkhize’s R40 million unpaid tax debt linked to her companies within the Zikhulise Group.
Two years ago, reports revealed that MaMkhize owed R12.7 million. However, this debt grew substantially, surpassing R37 million after the club was ordered to pay Samir Nurkovic’s full contract.
Since then, the debt is said to have risen to over R40 million.
On Monday evening, sports personality Andile Ncube tweeted, “A sad day for our football. After months of speculation, it’s done. SARS has won, and Royal AM will be sold.”
However, despite the widespread speculation, no official statement has been released to confirm the news.
