Not for the first time, EFF leader Julius Malema has poked fun at Helen Zille’s use of Botox in a below-the-belt tweet.
The outspoken politician – whose own appearance has sparked controversy – clapped back over criticism over an old video clip.
MALEMA POKES FUN AT HELEN ZILLE’S BOTOX
On her official X account, Helen Zille retweeted a video clip of Julius Malema from 2019.
In it, the EFF leader said, “In the next five years, if we have not built a school, don’t elect any of us. We are useless. It means we do not know what we want.””
At the time, Malema had vowed to build a private school in Alexandria.
The clip was posted by outspoken muso, The Kiffness, who jokingly claimed that Malema had “until Monday” to fulfill his promise.
The tweet was reposted by Helen, former leader of the DA.
“Tweet of the year,” she responded.
Helen’s comments caught the attention of Malema himself, who clapped back: “It is aging nicely like it has got Botox.”
It’s not the first time the “CIC” has mocked Helen’s appearance.
Last year, Malema put Helen on blast for her response to his Kill The Boerreference during the party’s 10-year celebrations.
Taking a low-blow jab, he reacted: “How do wrinkles and buttocks go together? That is the face of a devil! A devil’s botox with a wrinkled face”.
FASHION FORWARD
In 2009, Helen Zille confessed to dabbling with Botox.
She told the Sunday Times:” I had botox treatment for the first time in 2005. A friend told me that she had it done, and I was a bit surprised because I thought she was being superficial.
“I thought about it a bit, looked at my own frown lines, and decided to give it a try. The results seem to be worth it.”
A decade later, Helen – who recently appeared appeared in drag– admitted to hiring a stylist.
Meanwhile, Malema has been accused of having weight loss surgery following his dramatic transformation in recent years.
