We have all heard the saying ‘never forget your first love’ – and now the award-winning singer Makhadzi has proven his statement to be true.

The 2024 BET Best International Act Award winner has made it clear that when it comes to her relationship with ex-boyfriend Master KG, there is a bond that simply cannot be broken.

For years the duo has been at the centre of headlines when it comes to the status of their relationships – particularly when it involves one another, and while they appear to both be single, Makhadzi claims that they are inseparable.

The Jerusalema hitmaker and Makhadzi have been in an on-and-off relationship since 2020 and have dated at least thrice in the last four years.

According to the news and entertainment publication, The South African, Master KG’s love for the Limpopo-born singer runs so deep that in 2022 he spent millions on buying her a Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC 63S before eventually calling things quits a while later.

In a new interview with Citizen News, the singer provided more insights into the bond they share. Speaking to the publication she highlighted that the reason their relationship is so strong is because they have known one another years before they both became famous.

“That’s why I feel like I know him more than anyone, and he knows me more than anyone,” she explained.

She claims that even. Though they are not romantically together she still sees him as being her soulmate. This is because of how he goes out of his way to ensure that she is safe and is dating someone he approves of.

“When I say ‘soulmate’, I don’t mean we are together or not together. It’s just that he’s always protective of me. If I move on, he becomes jealous and ensures that I don’t continue with that relationship.”

She believes that the main reason he does this is to ensure that she dates the person who will be the right fit for her.
