Cape Town Festive Lights Switch-On

The Cape Town Festive Lights Switch-On is an annual event on the local calendar. It is here that people from all walks of life come together at Cape Town’s Grande in the city’s Central Business District (CBD) to enjoy an evening of live entertainment comprising of music, dancing, comedy and performances by some of our country’s biggest artists as the headlining acts.

This year will be no different, as the highly talented Murdah Bongz is set to take the stage. At the end of the night, Capetonians are ushered into the festive season through the official switching on of the festive lights, done by Mayor Geordin-Hill Lewis. The event is free for all to enjoy.

The event takes place on Sunday 1 December at 4 pm.

VOC Summer Festival

Just because your schedule is fully booked this weekend, doesn’t mean you should become concerned. Luckily there are many more activities for you to get involved in. From Friday, 6 December to Sunday 8 December, you and your family can have a fun-filled weekend at Athlone Stadium at this year’s VOC Summer Festival. This event allows you to try several carnival rides and support local stores. Tickets for the event range from R15 – R30 at Ticketpro.
