LONGWE TWALA: X

Singer and record producer Sello Chicco Twala’s son, Longwe Twala is reportedly a free man despite having a warrant of arrest.

With the Senzo Meyiwa’s murder trial still in session, many internet users have expressed their frustration as the real suspects have still not been arrested in connection with the 2014 shooting.

According to TimesLIVE, Longwe received a warrant of arrest after not pitching up to court after he was reported for theft for stealing R200k worth of equipment from his father when he was out of town, adding that, he also stole his sister’s phone ended up laying charges against him.

Since his pending theft case, Chicco has gone to the police to demand answers regarding why Longwe has not been arrested.

Speaking to ZiMoja, he said, “I fail to understand why the police in Diepkloof are failing to arrest Longwe when he is busy roaming the streets. If a warrant of arrest was out for me or any other high-profile person, we would have long been arrested and appeared in the media,” adding, “I am not going to do the police’s job, It’s been a month since Longwe failed to appear in court. Are people from Diepkloof safe because my son is a known drug addict? He may steal again while the police are relaxing and not hunting for him down.”

Despite his recent warrant of arrest, SowetanLIVE added that during the Senzo trial, it was revealed, by car tracker expert Maria Pretorius that on the day of the soccer player’s death, Longwe who had been driving his father’s car at the time made many stops including going to Kelly Khumalo’s Volsoorous family home and the hospital in the area.
