LEE-ANN AND JOHANN WIN ‘KLEIN PARADYS’

The winning pair of Klein Paradys season one took home a whopping R1 million sponsored by Capitec. Lee-Ann and Johann, had the best “Klein Paradys” of the first season of the show, with their unit – named Asem, meaning breath. However, the pair just made the win by 0.1 points, beating the runners-up Juan-Louis and Elri.

Lee-Ann and Johann are in-laws. She is married to Johann’s brother, but the pair made such a good team. Lee-Ann is an interior design student from Pretoria, and Johann is a structural engineer from Durbanville, Western Cape.

“The process was incredibly rewarding, and I think all of us grew and learned a lot this
month. I’m really proud of us,” Lee-Ann said after the announcement.

So, how does Klein Paradys work? There were six duos who were tasked with completing a micro-unit for rental in less than a month. The final score was determined by points from a panel of experts, points from the duos rating each other’s units, and three main judges. The judges were:

  • Wicus Pretorius
  • Magdalene Bobotoni
  • Jessica Pieters
