South African rapper L-Tido penned a note of appreciation to Doc Shebeleza after passing on.
The Kwaito legend was announced dead this Thursday.
The musician died at the age of 51 after a long battle with illness.
Taking to social media, L-Tido revealed one of the biggest favours received from Shebeleza.
“He was a real Grootman. In 2014 I sampled gets getsa for my song Steve Kekana . He cleared the sample for me, without taking a percentage or charging me . That’s unheard off in the music industry! Condolences to his family,” Tido wrote.
An online user descrived the event between Doc and the rapper as bad business.
However, L-Tido defended the deceased.
“From your point of view …. He told me the reason he did that , he wanted to empower new artists in the industry and also don’t get it twisted he was a successful businessman,” he wrote.
