Kelly Khumalo calls her co-sangomas to order
Kelly Khumalo has shared her thoughts on the ongoing feud between celebrity sangomas Gogo Maweni and Gogo Skhotheni.
The singer who recently became a traditional healer addressed the escalating tension between Makgotso ‘Gogo Maweni’ Mokopo and Patricia ‘Gogo Skhotheni’ Motsoeneng.
Skhotheni accused Maweni of wearing fake Gucci and not owning her cars, while Maweni fired back, claiming Skhotheni had lied about owning the newly launched club, Cavo.
The conflict intensified when Maweni and her associates accused Skhotheni of asking her estranged husband Monde to engage in a relationship with Dominic Zaca, insinuating Monde’s sexuality.
In a video, Khumalo expressed her concern without passing judgment, emphasizing the importance of respecting the sanctity of their spiritual roles.
She urged them to honor Isigodlo, the sacred space for consultations, saying, “Respect the secrets of Isigodlo. Respect the secrets of ancestors. Respect the secrets of Amakhosi. There are things that people shouldn’t know that we do in our sacred spaces.”
Khumalo also offered her perspective, advising the two sangomas to maintain the dignity of their divine calling. She stressed that while promoting their spiritual practices, they should ensure they do not compromise the sacredness of their gift.
“My sisters, this thing isn’t cool. It takes down your dignity of the gift of healing bestowed upon you. At some point, you will see people in compromising situations, something that needs to be hidden at all costs,” she said.
