Will Kaizer Chiefs end a decade of pain and tears? Will Orlando Pirates make history with three Nedbank Cup titles on the trot?
TEKO MODISE WANTS IT FOR KAIZER CHIEFS
“We need them [Chiefs] to win a trophy this season. First of all, the reason I said what I said at the beginning of the [year], that it is an opportunity for Chiefs to win the trophy is because, at some point, something has to give,” Modise said at the press conference.
“And being a club that has so much history with so many fans within the country itself crying out about the same thing, ‘trophy, trophy’. You look at all your arch-rivals, they are winning trophies, at some point, something is gonna give.
“You look at Kaizer Chiefs, things are not good and this might be the trophy that turns the things around. At Mamelodi Sundowns, we were that team before coach Pitso [Mosimane] came, signing players, trying with nothing coming out,” Modise continued as quoted by FARPost.
“We came back, we started winning and it became the culture and this is an opportunity for Kaizer Chiefs to do so. But yet again, you are playing an Orlando Pirates team who are very, very difficult. They have got so much confidence going into any game, believing that they gonna win.
“I think that’s an advantage [for Pirates], going into such games,” Modise concluded.
Kick off will be at 15:30 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
