Kaizer Chiefs are set to terminate the contract of coach Nasreddine Nabi at the end of the season despite winning the Nedbank Cup final, according to reports
The 59-year-old coach guided Amakhosi to a 2-1 win over rivals Orlando Pirates on Saturday afternoon at the Moses Mabhida to end the club’s 10-year trophy drought.
Despite his achievement, Sunday Times reported that Nabi will leave Chiefs at the end of the season.
“The Sunday Times can reveal that Kaizer Chiefs’ top brass have decided against allowing Nasreddine Nabi — who was hired on a two-year deal in July, with an option to extend for another year — to continue beyond the 2024/25 campaign,” the publication reported.

“The Tunisian coach has not lived up to expectations and will leave with his whole technical team.”
Nabi joined Kaizer Chiefs in July, having replaced Cavin Johnson. Despite a good start to his Amakhosi tenure, his team struggled for consistency, especially in the Betway Premiership.
“My first objective for the club is to place Kaizer Chiefs back in its natural position,”Nabi said after the final. “I’m happy for this trophy because it is going to help me continue my process, and it is going to give the fans a lot more confidence in this project,” said the Tunisian tactician
