Kaizer Chiefswill face Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup without at least six of their players.
Amakhosi’s quest to claim their first trophy in 10 years continues this weekend as they face the Chilli Boys. The two teams face off at the FNB in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 on Saturday evening.
Ahead of Saturday’s clash, Chiefs will be without some key players. Yusuf Maart (suspended), Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Dillon Solomons, Edmilson Dove, Wandile Duba, and Ashley Du Preez are the players likely to miss this weekend’s match.
Speaking ahead of the Nedbank Cup clash, Kaizer Chiefs coach confirmed that their reliable midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa won’t be available.
“Unfortunately, our captain [Maart] is suspended,” he said as per FARPost.
“Ox [Sibongiseni Mthethwa] is still injured and won’t be part of the game.”

“It’s a cup game which our club Chiefs has its purpose about the cup to go as far as we can. Even until the end, it’s always a difficult game.”
Amakhosi won 1-0 thanks to Mdu Shabalala when the two sides played in the Betway Premiership. The Kaizer Chiefs expect another difficult match as he looks to progress to the last eight of the Nedbank Cup
“[It] was a difficult game, and the individual brilliance of Shabalala helped us. We expect a very difficult game. We are prepared for it. We’ve done our due diligence and have worked through everything. We hope our performance will be very good against a difficult Chippa team.”
