Kaizer Chiefs move fast for Orlando Pirates playmaker!

Orlando Pirates will not renew Paseka Mako’s contract when it expires on July 1, opening the door for Kaizer Chiefs, who are said to be in advanced talks with the veteran left-back.

Mako isn’t AmaKhosi’s first option, having faced rejection with fellow wing backs Riaan Hanamub and Stellenbosch star Fawaaz Basadien.

Several players are expected to join Nasreddine Nabi’s outfit over the coming months, and it appears one of their first signings won’t have to travel far.

What’a happening with Mayele?

Kaizer Chiefs’ long-term target Fiston Mayele has the world at his feet after guiding Pyramids FC to their first African title, scoring in each knockout round, including a brace against Orlando Pirates.

Mayele may be out of reach for the Soweto giants with the player reportedly attracting bids upwards of R74 million.

“Mayele’s career with Pyramids FC will end at the end of the current season. The player will leave after the Zamalek and Pyramids match in the Egypt Cup final.”

“Mayele has received incredible offers, offers exceeding $3 million (R55 million) and reaching $4 million (R74 million) per season. The player is receiving $1 million per season from Pyramids, but he completely refuses to continue.”

“Pyramids Club, in appreciation of the player and the fact that he is the top scorer in the African Champions League and was one of the reasons the team won the championship,” Egyptian publication Al-Masry Al-Youm revealed.

Will Mako suit Kaizer Chiefs?
