Kaizer Chiefs are streamlining their squad and club legend Itumeleng Khune has backed the sale of one of their underperformers.

Khune backs Saile’s move away from Kaizer Chiefs

Chippa United and SuperSport have both expressed an interest in Kaizer Chiefs’ out-of-favour Congolese attacker Christian Saile. Itumeleng Khune rates him as a player but feels he’ll thrive away from the fish bowl-pressurized environment of Naturena.

Has Saile been under-utilized?

“But I think if Chippa United eventually sign him, they will make use of him, but with Kaizer Chiefs, I doubt.”

“Saile’s strength is to run at defenders, but he has not shown that since coach Nasreddine Nabi took over,

“Remember when he came, he used to bang in goals. He used to take on defenders, creating opportunities coming from the right-hand side as a left-footed player.”

The Soweto Derby is closer than you think!

Pirates have held the upper hand in recent meetings between these great Soweto rivals. The Buccaneers have won the last three meetings across all competitions, including each of the last two in the league, most recently that 3-2 success for the Sea Robbers with Saleng bagging a double. That stopped a curious and somewhat surprising run of five consecutive wins for Chiefs in Soweto Derby league clashes with the Sea Robbers. These rivals lock horns again on 01 February at Orlando Stadium.
