Kaizer Chiefs keeps SuperSport guessing on Sirino’s availability

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi says Gaston Sirino is not fully fit ahead of Sunday’s match with SuperSport United.

The 33-year-old Uruguayan forward was injured during a match against his former side, Mamelodi Sundowns, last month. Since moving to Kaizer Chiefs, Sirino has scored a goal and provided two assists in the three games he has played.

Under Nasreddine Nabi, the South American has become an instant fan favourite for the Amakhosi faithful. The Chiefs coach said the star might play against Matsatsantsa on Saturday.

“You will notice that we actually felt the absence of Sirino in our last game [Marumo Gallants]. So it shows the importance of that player within our team,” Nabi told the media as per FARPost.

Chiefs to have Sirino against SuperSport

“Maybe he is not fully recovered, but we are at least trying to count on him in the next game [SuperSport]. He won’t maybe play the whole 90 minutes, but we will see how many minutes we can give him in that game.”

Sirino has been Kaizer Chiefs’ main man this season contributing to the club’s two wins. Aside from him, Amakhosi look ordinary at times as seen during the Cufa Cup match against Marumo Gallants. If Chiefs are to go further in the competition, they need a fit Sirino especially against SuperSport.

Can Amakhosi win without Sirino?
