Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze has come to the defence of his striker Ranga Chivaviro.
The 31-year-old has been a target for the boo boys since arriving at Naturena last season. Although he had scored three goals this season already, Amakhosi fans are not still not sold.
On Saturday evening, Chivaviro missed a number of chances against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Home of Legends Cup final. Kaizer Chiefs eventually won 5-4 on penalties but Ranga was on the receiving end of boos.
The striker missed his spot kick but the miss did not prove costly as Amakhosi claimed the trophy.
“The question about Ranga, I won’t elaborate too much because I don’t believe the press conference is about the player,” Kaze said as per iDiski Times.
“But we got a lot of situations, a lot of good ones Ranga included, [Nkosingiphile Ngcobo] Mshini, [Mduduzi] Mdantsane, [Mduduzi] Shabalala one they had at least a chance to score we didn’t.

“It’s true that we need to improve the confidence of everyone, and we are truly working on it.
“I am pretty sure that overall, today it’s a positive, not the result it was a positive game in a lot of areas, and we will keep that in mind,” Kaze said.
Kaizer Chiefs are in action on 27 November against Richards Bay at the FNB Stadium. The Glamour Boys are currently eigth on the log in the Betway Premiership after five matches.
