Grace Jabbari, British dancer and ex-girlfriend of Jonathan Majors, has officially dropped her assault and defamation lawsuit against the actor.

The case’s dismissal was confirmed on Thursday. It follows a whirlwind year for the Hollywood star, who revealed his engagement to actress Meagan Good just days ago.

JONATHAN MAJORS’ CONVICTION

The court filing follows Majors’ conviction in December 2023 on two misdemeanour assault charges involving Jabbari, according to Daily Mail.

The charges stemmed from an altercation in March 2023, where Jabbari alleged Majors assaulted her in the backseat of an SUV.

Majors avoided jail time but was sentenced to probation, a year-long domestic violence course, and ongoing therapy.

THE JONATHAN MAJORS CASE

Both parties’ attorneys submitted a joint dismissal notice to the court.

“All claims against Defendant in the above-captioned action are hereby dismissed with prejudice.” Neither Jabbari nor Majors has commented publicly on the resolution.

Majors’ career has faced major setbacks since the allegations emerged.

JONATHAN MAJORS’ CAREER

Once poised to lead Marvel’s Kang Dynasty, the actor lost the role and other projects after his conviction, according to Daily Mail.

His Sundance-acclaimed film Magazine Dreams also saw its December 2023 release delayed.

Searchlight Features abandoned the movie, and Briarcliff Entertainment picked up its rights, planning an early 2025 release.

ALLEGATIONS AGAINST JONATHAN MAJORS

Jabbari, who had accused Majors of controlling and manipulative behaviour during their relationship, testified in court about his alleged angry outbursts.

“He would throw things at the walls,” she claimed, adding that he tried to isolate her from friends. She also alleged that he made suicidal threats after arguments.

Majors denied these accusations and, in a 2024 Good Morning America interview, insisted he had “never laid [his] hands on a woman.”

HIS CAREER

South African fans of Majors have followed the case closely.

His rapid rise to stardom, including standout roles in Lovecraft Country and Creed III, made him a household name globally.

However, his conviction and career fallout have left many questioning the future of his acting journey, USA Today.

The timing of Jabbari’s case dismissal has sparked curiosity, coinciding with Majors’ public engagement to Meagan Good.

JONATHAN MAJORS AND MEAGAN GOOD

The couple, first linked in May 2023, made their relationship official at the 2024 Ebony Power 100 event.

Good proudly displayed her engagement ring on the red carpet.

Many have widely discussed the pair’s united front, with some speculating that their partnership might mark a turning point in Majors’ public image.

Majors’ legal troubles still cast a shadow, but his engagement seems to have bolstered his spirits.

“Love has a way of bringing light to dark times,” a close friend of the actor reportedly shared.

GLITZ AND DRAMA

For South Africans who admire the glitz and drama of Hollywood, the case underscores the complexities of celebrity lives.

While the dismissal provides some closure, the larger question remains: will Majors be able to rebuild his career and regain public trust?

Time will tell if this chapter marks the beginning of redemption for the actor or a cautionary tale about the price of fame.
