After a two-year wait, everyone’s favourite serial killer psychopath, Joe Goldberg, will once again return to our screens later this month in the popular thriller “You.”
Penn Badgley reprises his role as Joe Goldberg for the fifth and final season, which airs on 24 April on Netflix. According to reports, Goldberg will have a new love interest this season, despite having already committed to Kate in the previous season.
Netflix released the first image from Season 5 of “You” on 30 January, 2025. It features a clean-shaven Joe walking the streets of New York City while holding his phone. After causing mayhem in London, Goldberg has escaped back to New York, where it all began. In March 2025, a trailer for “You” was released.
“Hello, you. You are back in the greatest city in the world, thanks to the one person who could make it possible,” Joe Goldberg proclaims as flashes of his new life in NYC appear on the screen.
“Fame definitely took a little bit of getting used to, but to live happily ever after, you have to bury your old self,” said the serial killer in a trailer.
Who are Joe Goldberg’s love interests in “You”?
Guinevere Beck
In the first season, Joe falls in love with Guinevere Beck, whom he stalks and eventually enters into a relationship with. Once Beck discovers Joe’s true nature, she ends the relationship, but Goldberg attacks her and locks her in a cage. After she nearly escapes, Joe grabs her and kills her.
Love Quinn
Love becomes Joe Goldberg’s love interest in Season Two of “You.” The two fall in love and eventually get married and have a son. In Season Three, their marriage deteriorates, and Joe ultimately kills Love after attempting to poison her.
Marienne Bellamy
Among all the women Joe loved, Marienne has been the one he is most obsessed with. The two have an affair in Season Three, but Marienne ends things when she realises Joe is a psychopath. In Season Four, Goldberg follows her all the way to France after killing Love.
Kate Lockwood
Joe falls in love with Kate in Season Four. Joe Goldberg is not in love with Kate and this is the first time in the series that the You protagonist is involved with someone who loves him more.
