Mamelodi Sundowns have looked fierce and intimidating as ever, with four wins out of four matches. Meanwhile, a few Kabo Yellow players are still injured.

MANQOBA MNGQITHI ON INJURED SUNDOWNS PLAYERS

Speaking to the media this week, coach Manqoba Mngqithi provided updates on Kegan Johannes, Arthur Sales and Erwin Saavedra.

“Kegan is very close. We are hoping for him to start full training probably, let’s say, next week, but he is very close,” said Mngqithi at the press conference, as per FARPost.

“There are a lot of activities that have taken place, the bios I think they have given him to the conditioning guys now, and he is very close. He had a setback, he was already far ahead and he had a setback in training that took him backwards a little bit. He even played one friendly against Sekhukhune, if I’m not mistaken, but unfortunately, after that, he had a setback and had to start back again.

SALES AND SAAVEDRA

“He [Arthur Sales] is also very close,” the Sundowns mentor Mngqithi added.

“He’s back in full training, he’s training with the team, he should be back, if not this weekend, probably next weekend he might be back.

“But it will depend on the competition within the group because he’s coming from an injury, and other players are in top form at the moment.

“Erwin Saavedra is training fully, he was very close to make the squad for this match. But he’s looking very good in training,” the Sundowns tactician concluded.
