‘I’m very sorry’ – Nabi apologises to Chiefs fans after heavy defeat

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi apologised to fans after his team was eliminated from the Carling Knockout Cup on Saturday evening by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Amakhosi went down 4-0 at the FNB Stadium in what was their third loss of the season. Chiefs captain Inacio Miguel was also sent off for two bookable offences meaning the Glamour Boys had to play the majority of the second half with 10 men.

After the loss, Nasreddine Nabi took the time to apologise to Kaizer Chiefs fans.

“I want to apologise for all the fans,” he said to SuperSport TV.

“I present my congratulations for my colleague. I’m very sorry for this outing.

“From the backline, from the goal to the front, nothing that we have worked on worked today.

“We wanted to have reaction coming into the second half, but the red card that we got in the beginning of the second made is hard to come back but that’s how football is.

“I would like to finish by congratulating Mamelodi Sundowns, they had an amazing. When someone does something good we need to accept that.

“But we would like to apologise to our beautiful fans. We know they are waiting for a moment of joy for a long time. We will go back and work harder to give them what they are expecting from us.”
