‘If I talk, red card’ – Nabi reacts on Pirates last-minute penalty

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has given his thoughts on Orlando Pirates’ late penalty which saw them claim three points on Saturday evening.

Playing at a packed FNB Stadium, both Amakhosi and the Sea Robbers gave it everything until the very end. Just as it looked that the match would end in a stalemate, match referee Masixole Bambiso pointed to the spot for a foul of Njabulo Blom on Relebohile Mofokeng in the 94th minute.

Patrick Maswanganyi stepped up to convert from the spot to give the Buccaneers all the three points. After the match, Kaizer Chiefs coach Nabi refused to dwell too much on the penalty which was awarded to Pirates.

“I’m not going to talk anymore about this type of referees. You will see in your studio if it was a penalty or not,” Nabi told SuperSport TV.

“If I talk, red card. If I ask him about his family, red card. If I ask how are you, red card.”

Nabi was not a happy man after Pirates were awarded last minute penalty

“Honestly, I think for the match a 0-0 is correct, no one deserved to lose the game,” he said.

This Nabi’s first meeting with Orlando Pirates since taking over in July last year. Before the derby, the Tunisian coach was suspended for two matches with his assistant taking over.
