After nearly four years apart, twin sisters and Afro-pop sensations Anele Mxakaza and Neliswa Makhubela are back together, ready to reclaim their spot in the music industry with new album Is’fungo.

The duo, who first gained recognition as part of the Idols SA Top 33 in 2013, has been busy reflecting on their separate journey and are excited to share their music with fans once again.

In an interview with Daily Sun, Anele revealed that they had been working closely together during their time apart. She explained that the reason for their separation was mainly to enable them to grow in the music industry. “We wanted to learn more about music and the industry and see what we can bring together. Now, we’ve learnt what we wanted to learn and have reunited, and now people will see us perform again.”

According to Sunrise News, the twins have launched a new EP under their own label, Aneliswa Music. Titled “Is’fungo,” meaning “a promise,” this EP is described as a bold expression of love, commitment, and the power of promises.

Taking to Instagram, the twins expressed their excitement about the album, writing, “This is truly a dream come true for us. Please continue streaming and buying our EP #ISFUNGO; it is available on all digital platforms[..], siyasebenza (we are working) and we’ve got more coming!”
