The Royal AM saga is back in the news after going quiet for a few weeks following the FIFA international break.

With club football set to resume this weekend, questions around Royal AM’s state of affairs again arose.

However, there appears to be a new huge update regarding that, with everything now left on the league to make official pronouncements.

ROYAL AM: WHAT IS THE LATEST?

Now, according to SABC Sport, Royal AM have a new owner; a businessman from the KwaZulu-Natal province.

The said businessman is set to be disclosed to the public before the end of this week, according the publication.

He is reported to have won the auction to purchase Royal AM from SARS who had appointed a curator to look after the club.

Furthermore, this undisclosed businessman was reportedly introduced to Royal AM players on Tuesday.

The players were reportedly then told to return to training and resume their work on Thursday morning.

And with Thwihli Thwahla lying in position 16 on the log with just eight points from 11 games, the new owner has promised bonuses to players.

This as a form of motivation to try and save Royal AM from being relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Now, with that said, all that is left is for the league to announce the news of Royal AM’s return to action and logistics around their fixtures.

Royal AM will remain in the KZN, at least for now, but whether or not they will continue to use the Harry Gwala Stadium as their home venue remains to be seen.
