Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze has revealed what the team needs to beat Orlando Piratesin the Nedbank Cup final.

The giants of South African football will face off at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 10 May 2025. Kick-off is 15h30. Last weekend, the Chiefs lost 2-1 to the Buccaneers in a league clash.

Kaze feels, though, that Kaizer Chiefs will be better prepared for the final.

“I think that it has to be a different approach to the league game last Saturday. This is like a knockout game. But there is a trophy at the end of the 90 minutes, plus extra time or penalties,” he said as per FARPost.

“The approach is going to be simple. You have to be efficient in the two different boxes: in your own box by defending well, and in your opponent’s box by scoring.

“It’s true that this kind of game, when it’s a final, has a kind of pressure that sometimes takes the flavour out of the beautiful game because nobody wants to lose.

“But as I said, it’s very simple: we have to be efficient, defend well, and score when we have the opportunity to do so.”

Kaizer Chiefs have lost five consecutive derbies coming into the Nedbank Cup final.
