Six years have passed, but the legacy of the legendary hip-hop icon Jabulani Tsambo, better known as HHP, remains.

When it comes to South African hip-hop in the early 2000s, rappers, the likes of the late Mandoza, and several others have been at the forefront of producing some of the most entertaining tracks that were guaranteed to get bodies on the dance floor.

Sadly, on the 24th of October 2018, it was announced that the 38-year-old had passed away. It was reported that the Jabba hitmaker likely passed away because of suicide.

At the time of his passing, HHP was survived by his parents, sister, wife and son.

In a recent post on Instagram, his widow Lerato Sengadi took the moment to acknowledge the late musician on the anniversary of his passing. In the post which contained a picture of him lying on the bed with a cigarette in his hand, she wrote:

“We will never, ever, forget you Motho! I’m going to keep making sure of that.

“24 October, the day my life changed forever. But what I know for sure is that Motho is beyond proud of me… Not all battles are visible and neither are the victories.”

She ended her post with the caption, “Jabba forever.”

One person commented: “People won’t remember HHP for music and lights any more – they’re going to remember him for reminding them that they have to do something for someone else.”

Meanwhile, a second person praised Lerato for the amount of strength she had shown.

“You’re such a force of strength rich aunty, love all over.”
