Felix Hlophe’s big leap into reality TV may have stirred up more controversy than excitement after just one episode.
The debut of Life with Felix, which aired on Mzansi Magic, introduced viewers to the personal life of the popular Gagasi FM presenter, but not everyone was impressed with what they saw.
The show follows Felix and his wife of seven years, Tracy Smith-Hlophe, as they navigate their relationship and explore the complex dynamics of a potential polygamous union.
While some viewers tuned in expecting entertainment and insight into their lives, others were left unsettled—particularly by Felix’s behaviour in the first episode.
Entertainment commentator Jabulani McDonald took to X shortly after the premiere to share his thoughts, and he didn’t hold back.
“He doesn’t respect his wife. Watched the first episode of his reality show and I think I am not gonna like him,” he posted.
Reactions have been mixed online. While some viewers agreed with McDonald’s criticism, others felt the portrayal might be exaggerated or even scripted to boost viewership.
Still, the comment has added fuel to the fire, pushing Life with Felix into the spotlight for reasons that may not have been part of the original pitch.
