American rapper Gunna has recently achieved significant milestones in South Africa’s music scene.
The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) honoured him with multi-platinum and gold certifications. Gunna’s second studio album, WUNNA, received a platinum certification.
DOUBLE PLATINUM STATUS
His singles fmean and pushin Pearned double platinum and platinum statuses, respectively, according to Music In Africa.
Additionally, tracks like Dollaz on My Headfeaturing Young Thug, Drip or Drown, Met Gala, One of Wun were awarded gold certifications.
Ayanda Mnguni, Warner Music Africa’s senior marketing manager, presented these accolades to Gunna. This highlighted his deepening connection with South African audiences.
Mnguni remarked, “Gunna’s music resonates profoundly with our listeners, and these certifications reflect his impact on the South African music landscape.”

Beyond these achievements, Gunna’s bond with South Africa strengthened through his collaboration with global Afropop sensation Tyla on the single ‘Jump’.
The music video, filmed in Johannesburg, showcased the city’s vibrant energy. The rapper immersed himself in the local nightlife, visiting iconic clubs and connecting with fans, according to Hype Magazine.
His recent performance at Heineken House further solidified his presence. Delivering a high-energy set, Gunna enthralled a packed arena with hits like fumean and pushin P.
