Former Kaizer Chiefs forward target joins Al Ahly!

Kaizer Chiefs added two forwards to their squad in the January transfer window, in a boost to their attack.

This in a move to add more experience to the Chiefs last line that has often relied on younger players.

As it stands Chiefs have academy graduates Mduduzi Shabalala and Wandile Duba as their join top goal scorers. The senior strikers in Ranga Chivaviro and Ashley du Preezhave been inconsistent or not inspiring enough confidence like a marquee forward should be doing. For that reason, Amakhosi wasted no time in the window and added the experience of Tashreeq Morris and Glodly Lilepo.

Chiefs target Manziba joins Al Ahly Benghazi

Morris joined Chiefs in a swap deal that saw DRC winger Christian Saile move to SuperSport United on loan. Interestingly enough, the window that Amakhosi signed Saile in, they also had an eye on a fellow countryman of his. This being a striker named Guily Manziba.Manziba came to South African shores and played for both Matsatsantsa and AmaZulu for 2020 to 2023.

Although things didn’t quite work out for Manziba at those two clubs, Chiefs were not deterred. In the end, they never got to sign him either. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, he has now clinched a move to Libyan giants Al Ahly Benghazi!

“Guily Manziba, the former SuperSport United winger, has joined a new club in Libya. He has signed with giants Al Ahly Benghazi in the Libyan Premier League” source confirmed to the same publication.

Amakhosi chose Saile

Looking at how Saile failed to make a meaningful impact at Chiefs, one can only wonder about Manziba. But his failure to make a name for himself at clubs like SuperSport and AmaZulu, where the pressure is lesser, could be telling.

Chiefs fans, would the signing of Manziba been more impactful than that of Saile had he been signed? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
