Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki linked with PSL return

Former Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki could return to the PSL potentially in the second half of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.

The 55-year-old coach has been a free agent since he was sacked by Amakhosi last year in October. After serving as head of development for two years at Chiefs, Ntseki was promoted to head coach before the 2023/24 season. His appointment was not well received by fans and within a couple of matches, the former Bafana Bafana was already being attacked by angry supporters.

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach Ntseki to return to PSL

After a poor start to the season, Ntseki was given the boot and replaced with Calvin Johnson. Earlier this year, the 55-year-old coach said Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung and the club failed to find a suitable candidate for the coaching role and asked him to take over.

His lack of experience in the PSL was questioned even before Ntseki coached his first match for Kaizer Chiefs.

According to Soccer Laduma, Ntseki is available to join any PSL team should he get approached.

“What I know is that Molefi Ntseki is available and ready to join any team in the PSL if an opportunity comes his way. There’s been talks of him possibly going to KZN to follow Arthur Zwane whom he worked with at Chiefs, who recently joined AmaZulu. But for him(Ntseki), it could be a different club and Richards Bay cannot be ruled out. There has been talk of that among those close to the club,” an informer told the publication.

Despite his four-month tenure at Kaizer Chiefs, Ntseki has no experience coaching in the PSL. If teams are to bring in new coaches, the likes of Morgan Mammila and Owen Da Gama are available with experience.
