Interest in Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng from Europe is reportedly growing!

The Buccaneers talisman has returned to prime form for Jose Riveiro’s side this season, scoring five goals and assisting one more in 10 appearances.

The 26-year-old winger has made a total of 67 appearances for the Buccaneers, grabbing 25 goals and 17 assists.

And now, new reports suggest a Belgian side are closely monitoring the Orlando Pirates star! Let’s take a look at all of the details below.

Standard Liege monitoring Orlando Pirates ace

“It’s not like the interest in Saleng died off. It’s just that last season he was not playing that much so it was hard for the teams interested in him to monitor his progress but they were checking what was going on,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.

“Now since he is back in the thick of things the interest has arise again. It’s Standard Liege that have shown interest. Actually last season they were also interested in Mohau Nkota while Monaco SC were interested in Saleng.

“So now it’s believed that the Standard Liege scouts are looking at Saleng since Nkota has not been playing much since his promotion.”

Chaine to receive contract extension at Orlando Pirates

“Chaine has done well at Orlando Pirates and the club wants to reward him by giving him a new contract before the current deal expires,” an insider told Citizen.

“I hear it’s a three-year plus one deal. The technical team and the club management are happy with Chaine.

“They want him to stay at Pirates for a long time hence they want to give him a long-term contract. The offer will be tabled to him soon so that it can sign it before January.”
