South Africa-born 53-year-old Elon Musk leads the way ahead of the co-founder of Oracle Corporation, Larry Ellison

Following closely behind in third place is the founder and CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos.

The rest of the top 10, in order, are Mark Zuckerberg, Bernard Arnault, Larry Page, Warren Buffet, Sergey Brin, Jensen Huang and Steve Ballmer.

Elon Musk’s dogecoin jumped

Musk is fast closing in on the $300 billion mark.

Not so long ago he trailed Bernard Arnault in the rankings. However, at the time of publishing Musk stands a staggering $120.4 billion ahead of the LVMH founder.

Musk’s cryptocurrency dogecoin jumped 18% after Donald Trump’s US election win this week, while his Tesla shares also saw double-digit increases.

Meanwhile, Trump is the 635th-richest person in the world with $5.3 billion.
