The PSL is in full flow on the pitch and behind the scenes.
Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns secured several signatures during the summer window, while Orlando Pirates failed to land any of their targets, including Thabang Matuludi, Oswin Appollis and Jaedin Rhodes.
Big-money rumours
- Venezuelan midfielder Edson Castillo is being monitored by Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek FC, who have previously attempted to sign the 30-year-old.
- Orlando Pirates, who face competition from Sundowns and Chiefs, are reportedly leading the race to sign AmaZulu star Tshepang Moremi.
- Bafana coach Hugo Broos believes this will be Relebohile Mofokeng’slast season in the PSL. The 20-year-old winger has interest from Al Ahly, Barcelona and Glasgow Rangers.
- The Buccaneers are keen on Cape Town City attacker Jaedin Rhodes and will presumably try to sign the former Young Player of the Year in the offseason.
More on Castillo
“There have been several inquiries but the main one which seems serious is from Zamalek,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.
“They had inquired before but at that time Chiefs were not willing to let him go. At the moment it seems he could leave for free as the club doesn’t seem keen to extend his contract,
“It’s his choice actually if Chiefs don’t renew and if Zamalek are interest in him it will depend on the talks between the player and Zamalek. Of course there have been inquiries and with Thabo Cele at the team now and the injury that Castillo suffered, this is chance now.”
Should Castillo leave the PSL?
