Gospel singer Dumi Mkokstad may be devoted to his faith, but his love for soccer remains strong—as seen in his frustration with Amazulu FC goalkeeper Richard Ofori after a disappointing performance.
During Tuesday’s Betway Premiership clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Amazulu FC, Ofori made several costly errors, leading to a 2-2 draw at FNB Stadium.
Reacting to a post by sports photographer Vino Snap, who wrote, “Ofori wasn’t having the best day at the office today. He gave Amakhosi a lekker gift,” Mkokstad didn’t hold back:
“Ayi bafowethu … ngiyinceku and shouldn’t judge others. But angeke bafethu, u Ofori uyabheda [I am a man of God and shouldn’t judge, but no guys, Richard Ofori sucks].”
Despite his criticism, Mkokstad later clarified: “I love soccer and I’m a Kaizer Chiefs fan, but I have relations with Amazulu. Ofori is a good player, but his performance made me wonder—could something be stressing him?”
Meanwhile, the gospel star is searching for talent and will be hosting auditions at Durban Station on Friday.
