Kaizer Chiefs have been dealt a huge blow with a player they had admired for a while signing for a rival.

Chiefs are expected to have another big transfer window at the end of the season with targets already lined up.

In the two Windows from this season, the club signed 10 players. It is thought that coach Nasreddine Nabi will continue to be backed. This in an effort to ensure that he glory days return to Chiefs. This publication recently reported that Amakhosi are going to use a new transfer strategy in the next window.

Chiefs registered an interest in Thikazi

Chiefs will reportedly look to sign players from outside South Africa. This is duo to being charged exorbitant transfer fees by local clubs for their talents. This is a big reason they might be rueing the missed opportunity of signing Mfundo Thikazi. The Glamour Boys had reportedly been monitoring the tricky Royal AM attacker for some years now. It was believed that they were monitoring the situation with the MaMkhize-owned club.

But now according to Sportswire, Thikazi has already been snapped up Chiefs’ league rivals Richards Bay FC

Player set to join Richards Bay instead

“Sportswire has learned that Richards Bay FC has finalized the signing of Mfundo Thikazi from Royal AM, a club facing imminent dissolution. This publication reported last month that Richards Bay was pursuing winger Thikazi, who had previously been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs. While the club was previously finalizing terms with the player, Thikazi has now officially signed. However, he will not be eligible to play for Richards Bay FC this season, as he was signed outside the transfer window. He will join the team for the next season.” Wrote the publication.

Big regret? or Amakhosi need better quality?
