SuperSport Unitedhead coach Gavin Hunt has confirmed that the club has lost striker Tashreeq Morris to Kaizer Chiefs.
The 30-year-old former Cape Town Citystar joined Matsatsantsa at the beginning of the season but just when he was finding his feet, he was snatched by Amakhosi. Morris scored two goals this season and one of them came against Chiefs in a league match.
Gavin Hunt on losing Morris to Chiefs
“Yeah, he just came in two months ago. Well, for us, you know, obviously it’s a blow, but you know, it’s a great opportunity for him,” Hunt told the media.
“And you know, I mean, how many players [have left us]? “Financially [it] will help him, so it is a no-brainer for the boy, so what can I do?”
Gavin Hunt confirmed that United have brought in Saile from Chiefs in a ‘swap deal.
“Yes, he is coming in,” said the 60-year-old coach. Saile has not impressed since joining Amakhosi in 2023 and during that time, the Congolese only scored six times in 49 matches for the Soweto giants.
Gavin Hunt might utilise the Kaizer Chiefs winger but losing Morris might have a huge impact going forward. Matsantsa still have ex-Chiefs star Samir Nurkovic who is yet to find the back of the net in two matches.
Will Saile find his form at SuperSport?
