DOCUMENTS REQUIRED WHEN COLLECTING

SASSA grant beneficiaries need to have their ID with them when collecting the new Postbank Black Card. Those looking to do the switch on behalf of someone can also do so. However, they will need to ensure they bring an official SASSA letter.

Also, Asylum Seeker grant recipients must have a SASSA approval letter with them when collecting.

According to Postbank, the deadline for beneficiaries to get their new cards has been set for 31 March 2025. SASSA recipients have been urged to do the switch before the deadline to avoid any hassles.

The cards can be collected at various stores in other provinces including Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, the Cape, North West and Free State.
