A meme-worthy clip of Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus dancing  – in response to his World Rugby “snub” – has had many South Africans amused.

The clip – which dates back to 2021 – was posted on the social media account of SA Rugby.

RASSIE DANCING MEME HAS FANS AMUSED

Last weekend, South Africans were up in arms after Rassie Erasmus was given the cold shoulder for the World Rugby Coach of the Year.

Despite having two consecutive World Cups to his name, the award was given to French Sevens coach Jérôme Daret.

Responding to the apparent snub, SA Rugby Magazine posted a clip of the Springbok coach dancing – like nobody was watching.

The clip was captioned: “A coach who is unbothered about being snubbed for individual awards.”

The clip was hilariously set to the tune of Tyler ICU and Khalil Harrison’s Jealous.

South Africans in the comment section were amused by the post.

@mbongeni_myende: “Admin, you’re the man of the match for the perfect song choice.”

@bongixxi: “No DNA just RSA, vibez”

@nolutha209: “Rassie has 50m South Africans behind him. Who cares about those jealous, miserable grey shoes at World Rugby?

DAD DANCE MOVES

Rassie Erasmus initially tweeted the viral dancing clip in December 2021 during a boozy festive season celebration.

Rassie – who has three daughters with his ex-wife – is known for “embarrassing” his children with his “dad dance moves.”

In the dance clip, Rassie posted: “Time to get back at my twins !! Apparently they can embarrass anytime but parents not! Remember I am white and have no rhythm, but hell I want to make the Gwijo Squad”.

SPRINGBOKS COACH UNFAZED BY ‘SNUB’

Meanwhile, Rassie Erasmus has indirectly responded to being snubbed by World Rugby.

In a voice note posted on X, he urged South Africans to “stay nice and humble, support each other, and help us keep our feet on the ground.”

“We play for you guys and for South Africa, also for those abroad who understand and see what we stand for as the Springboks – I appreciate that a lot.

“At the end of the day, it is all just a game that we are all proud of.”
