The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: South Africa star Christall Kay has been labelled insensitive to the family of the late billionaire Douw Steyn.
This comes after she paid a heartfelt tribute to him on social media and revealed that they were once engaged.
The insurance mogul passed away on Tuesday at the age of 72 following a prolonged illness.
CHRISTALL KAY PAYS TRIBUTE TO BILLIONAIRE DOUW STEYN
Former The Real Housewives of Johannesburg (RHOJ) star Christall Kay has faced backlash online after paying tribute to billionaire Douw Steyn.
The business mogul, whose career spanned decades and amassed significant wealth, passed away on Tuesday following a prolonged illness.
Steyn was the owner of Auto & General Insurance and Steyn City, as well as several other ventures.
Christall took to her Instagram to pay tribute to him, describing him as a genius, an incredible businessman, a loving father, and the utmost gentleman.
The star posted a video of herself and Steyn, featuring images of them from when they were younger, with the pictures showing them affectionately together.
“Today, I am overcome with sweet memories and tears hearing of the passing of billionaire Douw Steyn. My gentle, kind heart, who filled my life with such excitement, passion, adventure, and love! An absolute genius, incredible businessman, loving father, and utmost gentleman.”
She also went on to reveal that they “did life together for a while, both the triumphs and tragedies!
“Thank you for your love, your generosity, and for showing me such a wonderful world. You will always be a true inspiration and hold a special place in my heart! RIP,” she captioned the post.
CHRISTALL’S FOLLOWERS REACT TO HER TRIBUTE TO DOUW STEYN
The Real Housewives was criticised for allegedly being insensitive, considering the billionaire had moved on from her.
Christall responded by saying, “He was my love too ❤️ and I never got to say goodbye 😢.”
She also went on to reveal that she was engaged to Steyn. “BTW his whole family and his wife all knew we were engaged at the time but I stepped away to make my own life but I will always hold him dear,” wrote Christall.
@Leeramafa also commented on Christall’s post, saying, “You’re inconsiderate and attention-seeking. He has a wife, and you’re a thing of the past. Move on, Ghel.”
