Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns shared the spoils in the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC], while Stellenbosch FC kept hold of the top spot.
The blockbuster clash between the Brazilians and Amakhosi ended in a 2-2 draw at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday. Tshiamo Masisi scored a brace for Sundowns, while Thulani Mabaso and Neo Bohloko found the net for Chiefs.
This stalemate ended the three-match winning streaks for both Masandawana and the Phefeni Glamour Boys.
Sundowns remain in second position after accumulating 26 points from 12 games, while Chiefs sit third with 24 points after 11 matches.
SuperSport United cruised to a 3-1 victory over Magesi FC, with Thabang Makubo emerging as the star of the show. The youngster netted a brace, with Bohlale Ngwato adding the third goal.
The Swanky Boys returned to winning ways, having suffered a loss to their crosstown rivals Sundowns the previous week. Matsatsantsa occupy the sixth place on the table having collected 22 points after 12 games.
Meanwhile, Richards Bay FC triumphed 3-2 over Chippa United, with TS Galaxy edging Polokwane City 2-0.
On Sunday, Stellenbosch won 3-1 over Sekhukhune United at Idas Valley Stadium. Kyle Bailey, Cheswyn, and Jeandre Gaffoor were on target for Stellenbosch, while Tshidiso Tshehla scored the lone goal for Sekhukhune.
The Cape Winelands side maintained their position at the top of the league standings, holding a three-point advantage over second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns.
The other match on the day saw AmaZulu FC thump Marumo Gallants 3-0 at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban.
Orlando Pirates did not play this past weekend as Royal AM, who were supposed to be their opponents, were halted from participating in the tournament.
