Chidinma Adetshina made history at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant on Sunday morning, finishing as the first runner-up.
The 22-year-old beauty queen’s journey began at the Miss South Africa pageant, where she faced backlash and criticism due to her Nigerian roots. Following the controversy, Chidinma withdrew from the competition and later entered the Miss Universe Nigeria contest, ultimately winning the title.
Representing Nigeria on the global Miss Universe stage, Chidinma delivered a stellar performance, securing a historic achievement for her country.
The crown was claimed by Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, who now succeeds Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, the reigning Miss Universe 2023.
The glittering grand finale took place at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico.
