Chidinma Adetshina, Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, recently addressed misunderstandings surrounding her comments about leaving pageantry.
The beauty queen, who finished as the first runner-up at Miss Universe 2024, made headlines after announcing her plans to focus on education and pursue a career in acting and runway modeling.
“I want to put pageantry aside for now and focus more on my education and establishing who Chidimma is. I want to delve more into runway modeling and acting and explore many other areas. There are so many things I would like to try and see where my potential can take me,” she initially stated.
However, Chidinma took to her social media to clarify the statement, explaining that her decision is not immediate.
“Just to give clarity: When I said ‘it’s the end of the road for pageantry,’ I meant that I’ve done so well and left on a high note and I don’t think there is any need for me to do any other pageants after this. However, this decision will come into play after my reign as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania,” she wrote.
