Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Leon Schreiber, posted about one of the workers in the department, Siphokazi, who helped someone sort out an issue with their passport.
Schreiber took to social media to express his gratitude to the Home Affairs employee. In the post shared on the minister’s X account, he included a letter from the person helped by Siphokazi, who some are now desperate to find.
HOME AFFAIRS MINISTER PRAISES SIPHOKAZI
In a post shared on X on 27 January 2025, Minister Schreiber thanked Siphokazi for her contribution in their effort to provide quality service.
The post read: “Siphokazi shows how #TeamHomeAffairs can deliver dignity for all!
“We are certainly not all the way there yet, but messages like this demonstrate how we are making meaningful progress every day on building the proud culture of service we all want.”
THE LETTER FROM A HAPPY CITIZEN
In the letter shared by Schreiber, the person assisted by Siphokazi revealed that she has been working in customer service for decades and had to share her experience with Siphokazi.
The writer stated that her husband had been having issues with his passport since 2024. They went to multiple Home Affairs branches but could not get any help. This was until they were referred to Siphokazi.
She praised Siphokazi’s professional service, dedication and pride in her work. She also expressed her wish for many other Home Affairs staff to offer good service like Siphokazi.
