Nigerian superstar Burna Boy reacts to the report of Da L.E. S’s illness.
The South African rapper suffered a stroke in July, his birthday month. After being hospitalized, he was recently discharged and is now recovering at home.
On Friday, Afrobeat star Burna Boy took to his Instagram Stories to express his concern, sharing that media personality Tbo Touch had informed him about Da L.E.S’s health condition.
Burna admitted feeling deeply saddened by the news, especially since he’s currently unable to be in South Africa to support his friend.
The Nigerian artist has a longstanding connection with Da LES, which also included the late rapper AKA.
Despite past tensions around issues of xenophobia that strained their relationship, Burna’s recent messages highlight the importance of healing old divides.
Posting from his tour with Akon, Burna wrote, “My only pain right now is not being in South Africa with Da L.E.S. @tbotouch let me know what’s going on last night at the show.”
He ended with a call for unity, adding, “It’s time to fix this sh*t now.”
