The City of Tshwane council is expected to elect a new mayor on Wednesday, 9 October, following the ousting of the Democratic Alliance’s (DA’s) Cilliers Brink.
The metro municipality has been without a mayor since 26 September and the question on everybody’s lips is whether Brink will be reinstated as the DA plans to field him as a candidate or will the metro get a new mayor?
On the other hand, the DA said it will field Brink as a mayoral candidate so “he can continue the good work in the metro”.
DA Gauteng leader Solly Msimanga blamed the anti-Government of National Unity (GNU) faction of the ANC for Brink’s removal.
Msimanga said it is clear that the faction is gaining the upper hand in the party.
DO YOU THINK CILLIERS BRINK WILL BE REINSTATED AS MAYOR OR WILL ACTIONSA’S NASIPHI MOYA LEAD THE METRO?
