eThekwini Municipality updates status on beaches and pools

As two public holidays and the long weekend approaches, eThekwini Municipality has released updated information regarding which Durban beaches and public pools are safe and open for swimming.

According to the municipality, as of 23 April, another Durban beach has been closed for swimming due to poor water quality. This is in addition to Laguna Beach, which has been closed since 1 April.

These two closed Durban beaches are:

  • Laguna Beach, and
  • Westbrook

“This status of beaches and pools will be updated as and when their status changes. You can still enjoy other recreational activities at closed beaches. You just can’t swim.” the municipality said.
