MPHO POPPS SPOOFS ‘AARON PIERRE, THAT’S MUFASA’

Earlier this week, Mpho Popps posted a funny video of his hair reveal – after attempting to get a style known as “waves.”

However, the end result was a complete failure, and South Africans, including his wife Latoya, were clearly amused.

Later, Mpho used his new look to spoof a viral video featuring Mufasa star Aaron Pierre.

The video emanates from the Jennifer Hudson Show, where celebrity guests are given a grand entrance featuring singing and dancing.

In the clip, which was filmed in late December, cast and crew single a jingle with the words “Aaron Pierre, that’s Mufasa”, as the actor sashayed down the corridor – titled the “spirit tunnel” – onto the set.

The video – which has gone viral with over 20 million views on TikTok, and millions more on other platforms – has become an instant meme, with many men attempting to recreate it.

Spoofing the video – which was titled “If you can’t beat them, join them”, Mpho Popps did his best dance impression to the tune of “Aaron Pierre, that’s Mufasa.”

He captioned the clip: “The real reason I did this to my hair is because Latoya played this video 20 times a day.

“So I told my barber I wanted an Aaron Pierre haircut, and he said: ‘Say less’”.

In the comments section, Mpho’s followers gave him an “A for effort” despite calling him the “Aaron Pierre from Temu.”

ORIGINAL VIDEO HAS FEMALE FANS SWOONING

Meanwhile, the Jennifer Hudson Show has turned off all comments on the viral video featuring Aaron Pierre.

The 30-year-old British actor is the voice-over artist behind the young Mufasa in the 2024 box office hit Mufasa: The Lion King.

According to media reports, the show’s cast disabled comments on the video posted on X, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok after the comment section was inundated with “inappropriate” comments from female fans.
