Kaizer Chiefs have received in a massive boost regarding their recent links with Bongani Zungu.

Kaizer Chiefs have been linked with ex-Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder Zungu for months.

However, the deal did not materialize in the recent PSL transfer window. Interestingly, the side Zungu was about to join has just rejected him and sent him back to South Africa.

CHIEFS RECEIVE ZUNGU BOOS AFTER WYDAD REJECTION

Zungu has just been rejected by Wydad.

Meaning, Rhulani Mokwena and his new side have opted against signing Zungu. Furthermore, reports state that the ex-Sundowns star is headed back to South Africa.

“Rhulani Mokwena’s Wydad AC have decided against signing former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns star Bongani Zungu,” the report read on Goal.

So, Zungu remains a free agent.

Therefore, if Chiefs decide to re-visit their interest in him then they could sign him now. This is because free agents are not limited to the same transfer windows as contracted PSL stars.

AMAKHOSI OPTIONS GROW

Chiefs transfer options continue to widen with the January transfer window approaching.

Zungu is a free agent. Meanwhile, this Orlando Pirates player is in need of game time and he has been linked with a move to Chiefs.

Moreover, with Nasreddine Nabi and Amakhosi management prioritizing the need to sign a striker, several red-hot attackers have been linked to Chiefs. Finally, Amakhosi are keen to bring back this former player in January.
