A young singer from Zimbabwe captivates the Britain’s Got Talent judges with her extraordinary voice, delivering a moving performance that leaves them stunned.
A Journey from Zimbabwe to the UK
Linda Mudzenda, a 21-year-old children’s support worker from Bedford, originally hails from Zimbabwe.
According to Mirror, she moved to the UK two years ago and has long dreamed of performing on Britain’s Got Talent.
“I watched BGT on YouTube all the time growing up,” she shared. “When people asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, I always said to be part of Britain’s Got Talent.
Even though I was in Zimbabwe, I believed I would move to the UK and make it happen. The thought of getting a golden buzzer would make me cry hysterically.”
Early Start in Gospel Music
Linda’s love for singing began at age 10 when she performed with her sisters in church.
“It’s a very different feeling from performing solo now,” she reflected.
She started singing professionally at 16, working with Gospel artists worldwide.
Today, she provides backing vocals, helps produce music, and writes her own songs.
She plans to release her first single this autumn.
“My tracks are deeply influenced by the church, and the lyrics are meant to guide people through hard times and help them find answers in a higher power.”
A Passion for Music and Helping Others
Alongside her job, Linda is a part-time musician, though she has never performed at work.
“I work with children from newborns to 18-year-olds. It’s rewarding, and no two days are the same.
My best days are when I see the babies, I get so broody,” she said.
Many of the older children she supports are passionate about music, and sharing her own musical background helps her connect with them.
“They love knowing we have a shared interest.”
Rising to Greater Heights
One of Linda’s biggest achievements was performing at the Afri Praise concert at Birmingham Arena in August this year.
“Singing to a large crowd is a strange feeling. I’m always nervous beforehand, but the moment I get the microphone, the nerves disappear, and I own the stage.”
Hopes for the Future
Dreaming of success on BGT, Linda looks ahead with ambition. “Winning BGT and gaining international recognition would be a dream come true. It would help me grow my audience, release more music, and possibly tour with my own sound.”
